Abstract

The authors of the article state that Georgia has a great resource for the development of agro-tourism. This is evidenced by the ideal conditions for agricultural development in Georgia, such as fertile soils, water resources and climatic conditions. The paper also notes that Georgia's diverse contrasting nature is important for the development of agro-tourism: with rich flora and fauna, large hunting and fishing areas, forest fund size and uniqueness, mountain-ski trails, rich historical and church and architectural monuments. According to the authors, the development of agro-tourism in Georgia is at an early stage. In this regard, each region of Georgia has great potential; it is focused on meeting the needs of people with average and below average financial capabilities. Agritourism gives a new impetus to the development of the regions and it can be considered as one of the factors of sustainable rural development.
